The labour party ( LP) has finally dumped Bar. Julius Abure as it’s national chairman and constituted a caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of the party nationwide for a period not exceeding three months
This is contained in the communique released after a special stakeholders meeting of the party held in Abuja on Monday, 8th, April, 2024.
According to the communique, the stakeholders meeting summoned by the political commission of the Nigerian Labour Congress, (NLC) passed a vote of no confidence in Abure and his purported Mnewi national convention as well as the national officers produced by the said convention.
The communique also mandated the Transition Committee set up from national to ward structure of the party, to embark on the party’s property recovery, revalidation of party membership as well as registration and issuance of membership cards to new members.
The communique signed by prof. Theophilus Ndubuaku for the Chairman of NLC Political Commission, Com. Abdulwahed Omar, former president of NLC, Com. S.O.Z. Ejiofor, Chairman of Labour Party Board of Trustees, Engr Gambo Daniel Balarebe, National Coordinator of CSF, Dr Moses Paul (M.O) Coordinator of Obedent Movement and others, further mandated the Transition Committee which membership will soon be announced, to organize an all- inclusive congress and national convention within three months.
