Hon. Chief Ezeanochie Emmanuel (JP), the President of the Imo State Amalgamated Markets and Trade Associations, ISAMATA, on Wednesday felicitated with Muslim traders in the state over the 2024 Eid al-Fitr Celebration, describing the festival which is one of the biggest in Islamic calendar as a time for reflection and renewed spiritual growth.
Hon. Ezeanochie, who is also the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Markets, in his goodwill massage, expressed joy over the celebration, while congratulating the Muslim faithful for their successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan; a month-long period of fasting and almsgiving.
The leader of all the traders in Imo State, used the opportunity and encouraged the Muslim faithful in the state, especially traders to leverage this year’s Eid al-Fitr to work towards strengthening the bonds of love, unity and tolerance existing among Nigerians and residents of Imo State in particular, expressing confidence in a better future for all. He also urged them to support the 3R Government of Governor Hope Uzodimma always to deliver its people-oriented projects and programmes.
His statement read: “Let me use this opportunity to felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters over the 2024 Eid al-Fitr. This period is a unique one for adherents of Islam to draw spiritual renewal and growth, having gone through the month-long journey of fasting, reflections and charitable works. The month of Ramadan actually provides an opportunity for introspection and and new beginning.
“As the President of ISAMATA, it is my delight to bring good wishes from the state Executives and the entire traders in Imo State to our Muslim members. This is consistent with our practice as one family to always show solidarity with our members on special occasions like this among others, because my leadership takes issues of welfare, unity and progress of members seriously.
“May I also use this medium to wish our Muslim members well and to encourage them to continue to pray for the peace, unity and progress of our country, Imo State and ISAMATA. I enjoin them to continue to uphold the good attitudes that bind us together as well as promote our common interests as Imo State traders.
“More importantly, they should continue to support the 3R Government of our performing governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma consolidate on its mandate of transforming the state through people-oriented projects and programmes,” Hon. Ezeanochie, stated.
It would be recalled that Eid al-Fitr is one of the two major holidays celebrated by Muslims and commemorates the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims fast daily from before dawn until sunset.
