Dana Air has confirmed the successful evacuation of all 83 passengers from the plane involved in the recent incident at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State. The airline has pledged complete cooperation with the ongoing investigation into the matter.
Following the plane’s skidding off the runway during its arrival from Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) promptly initiated an inquiry.
In a statement issued by Dana Air’s management, the company expressed regret over the runway incident involving its aircraft, identified by registration number SN BKI.
The airline promptly informed both the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) about the occurrence. Subsequently, the aircraft has been grounded by Dana Air’s maintenance team for further examination.
Dana Air praised its crew for their quick response, ensuring the safe disembarkation of all passengers without any injuries or panic. The company also thanked the airport authorities and apologized to the affected passengers for any inconvenience caused.
