A Renowned consultant Neurosurgeon, and Critical Care Medical Practitioner , Dr. Mark Okhueleigbe ( MBBS ,FWAC,FMCS) of Mark of Glory Hospital along Mcc road, between Tracas park and ITC, has assured that if well managed stroke can be treated and the patient gets well.
The neurosurgical expert made this known at the 3rd annual healthy heart seminar held at Graceland event centre in the capital city of Owerri.
Speaking on the theme “the role of surgery in stroke management” he stressed on the need for people to pay attention to their health and not to wait until it becomes an emergency before they seek for medical care , he said a stroke patient can still bounce back to his duty post or work place, he adviced citizens not to give any suspected stroke patient any food before moving him/her to the nearest hospital. He said “I told the gathering of how stroke can be treated and the patient get well, and the surgical aspect of stroke, stroke can be treated and the patient get well, we have handled so many cases like that, both in Mark of Glory Hospital and Federal University Teaching Hospital where I work” he said.
Dr. Okhueleigbe disclosed that though surgery is not needed in all cases, he sad surgery play a vital role in stroke management.
Dr. Okhueleigbe seized the platform to applaud
the 2024 healthy heart seminar anchored by precious healthy heart foundation ably led by the President Dr. Damian Oparaocha who survived a heart attack 2 years ago.
