Governor Hope Uzodimma has officially presented the Staff of Office and Certificates of Recognition to traditional rulers from various autonomous communities in Imo State. The event, held at the Government House in Owerri, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening traditional leadership and governance.
Speaking to the monarchs, Governor Uzodimma stressed their crucial role in safeguarding cultural values, promoting harmony, and enhancing security in their respective communities. He urged them to actively participate in governance, support government policies, and work closely with security agencies to tackle crime and maintain order.
The Governor also warned that any traditional ruler who fails to fulfill their responsibilities or chooses to live outside their domain may face removal. This initiative is part of a broader plan to revitalize traditional institutions, occupy vacant stools, and drive grassroots development.
By recognizing and empowering these leaders, the Imo State government aims to promote peace, unity, and cultural preservation across the state. This event represents another significant step in ensuring that traditional rulers remain influential guardians of heritage and active contributors to societal growth.
