The South East All Progressives Congress,APC Special Citizens Leader,Hon. Dr. Stanley Chinedu Nwachukwu has commended the Executive Governor of Imo State,His Excellency,Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for signing into law, the Imo State Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) Discrimination (prohibition) Bill.
In a telephony interview over the weekend,Hon. Nwachukwu told newsmen that it is high time people stop intimidating,discriminating and molesting persons with disabilities as the law enshrines their total inclusion,rights and social justice in Imo State.
He expressed happiness that the law as the Imo State Disabilities Law,marks a significant legislative victory in the long-fought struggle for equal rights and dignity for over 15% of Imo populace living with various forms of disabilities.
The Orlu-Imo State -born South East APC Special Citizens Leader thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma immensely and enjoined other S/East States yet to do so,to quickly follow suit.
According to him,”praises go to Imo State House of Assembly members, civil society organizations, disabilities rights advocates and other champions of equity who stood firm during the pursuit of this historic law. I am happy that this is coming in the regime of our amiable Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma. My people can now enjoy equal rights of employment opportunities as well as stand chances to be elected into elective positions.

He called on the Imo State Government to immediately set up mercenaries in motion to establish Disabilities Commission.
In furtherance,Hon. Nwachukwu opted for immediate intensive public sensitization campaigns so as to enlighten citizens and institutions about the new Law and their expected responsibilities.
He however stated that Disabilities Community in Imo State will continue to celebrate the thunderous legislative achievements of Imo State House of Assembly.
