President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for a 10-day annual leave in Europe, with visits scheduled in France and the United Kingdom. The presidency stated that the trip is part of his approved vacation and may include brief consultations on state matters while he is abroad.
This trip adds to the president’s growing list of international travels since taking office in May 2023. While some critics have questioned the frequency of these trips, presidential aides maintain that they serve important diplomatic and strategic purposes.
Tinubu is expected to return to the country on or before the end of his leave, during which time Vice President Kashim Shettima will oversee routine governance matters.
