The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State, Hon. Sir Benjamin Ukachukwu, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will record a landslide victory across the State in the 2027 general elections.
Ukachukwu made the prediction while speaking to newsmen during inauguration of the APC Campaign Council at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, Owerri, on Monday, September 14, 2026.
The Orsu APC Chairman said the Party was well-positioned to secure victory in the elections, stressing that the political strength and organisational structure of the APC in Orsu and other parts of Imo State would work in favour of its candidates.
According to him, the Party’s anticipated victory would cut across the various elective positions, from the State House of Assembly to the presidential election.
He declared that APC would emerge victorious in the Orsu State Constituency election, as well as other legislative contests, while also securing the Federal House of Representatives and senatorial seats within the zone.
Ukachukwu was particularly emphatic about the Party’s prospects in the Orlu Senatorial District, where he expressed confidence that the APC Candidate, Governor Hope Uzodimma, would emerge victorious.
“Our dear Governor Hope Uzodimma will win Orlu Zone Senatorial District. Of course, Orsu LGA is for APC,” he stated.
He described Orsu as a stronghold of the APC and expressed optimism that the Party’s supporters across the Local Government would remain united and committed to ensuring victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The Party Chairman also attributed his optimism to what he described as the growing acceptance of the APC among the electorate, noting that the inauguration of the campaign council had further demonstrated the party’s preparedness for the 2027 electoral contest.
He urged Party members, supporters and stakeholders in Orsu to work together and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
Ukachukwu maintained that victory at the polls would require sustained engagement with the people at the ward and polling-unit levels, urging APC faithful to remain disciplined, peaceful and focused throughout the electoral process.
The inauguration of the Campaign Council, he said, marked the beginning of a new phase of mobilisation and coordination for the Party as it prepares to approach the 2027 general elections.
He further called on members of the Party to take the campaign to the grassroots and communicate the Party’s programmes and achievements to the electorate, while encouraging eligible voters to participate actively in the democratic process.
The Orsu APC Chairman expressed confidence that with unity among Party members, effective mobilisation and strong grassroots support, the APC would retain its electoral advantage in Orsu and record an impressive performance across Imo State in 2027.
He therefore appealed to APC supporters in the local government to remain steadfast and united, insisting that the party’s objective was not only to win elections but also to consolidate its political structure and strengthen its presence across the various wards and communities.
As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum, the APC leadership in Orsu has positioned the Local Government as a key battleground for the Party’s mobilisation efforts, with Ukachukwu projecting a sweeping victory for the ruling party from the State Assembly level to the presidency.
