The Association of Imo State Based Journalists (AIBJ) has congratulated the immediate past Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Imo State Chapter, Rev. Dr. Eches Divine Eches, PhD, on his emergence as the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), South-East Region.
In a congratulatory statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Kelechi Ugo, and the Secretary, Ikenna Orioha, the body described Rev. Dr. Eches’ emergence as a well-deserved recognition of his exemplary leadership, commitment to Christian service, and unwavering dedication to the growth of the Church.
The Association noted that Rev. Dr. Eches, who currently serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on Religious Affairs, has continued to distinguish himself through purposeful leadership and selfless service to both the Church and society.
According to the statement, his election to lead CAN in the South-East marks another significant milestone in his distinguished leadership journey, coming on the heels of his successful tenure as Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Imo State.
AIBJ expressed confidence that, with his wealth of experience, integrity, and spiritual guidance, Rev. Dr. Eches would provide effective leadership capable of strengthening the activities of CAN across the five South-East states.
The Association further stated that his tenure is expected to foster greater unity among Christian denominations, deepen collaboration among church leaders, promote peaceful coexistence, and advance the Christian faith throughout the region.
The Association also prayed for God’s wisdom, strength, and divine guidance upon the new South-East CAN Chairman as he assumes the responsibilities of his new office.
The emergence of Rev. Dr. Eches has continued to attract commendation from religious leaders, public office holders, and well-wishers across the South-East.
Rev. Dr. Eches hails from Umuluwe, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, and is widely respected for his contributions to Christian leadership, peacebuilding, and religious harmony within and beyond the State.
