As the Imo State Government begins the payment of gratuities to retirees, the Member who represents Onuimo State Constituency in Imo Assembly, Hon. Uba James Esile, has commanded Governor Hope Uzodimma for the feat.
In a chat with journalists in Owerri on Monday, Esile observed that the effort by the Governor was a demonstration of love and good leadership, saying the huge amount of money set aside for the payment of gratuities to pensioners reflected his desire to reward excellence, hard work and commitment to service.
Esile who added that the payment will largely help the retirees to assuage the lingering economic hardship in the country, stated that civil servants would be encouraged on efficiency, accountability and viability and thereby contribute to the financial, infrastructural growth of the state.
“The Governor of Imo State is visionary, loving, pragmatic, accountable and unassumingly good. Setting aside such a huge amount of money for the payment of gratuities to retirees in the state reflects his goodness, acuity and democratic spirit to advance human capital development, comfort, peace and security in Imo State. The lovely people of Onuimo State Constituency who are also beneficiaries of His Excellency’s good leadership will always support the administration’s policies to advance the goodness of the state”, Esile maintained.
