An unidentified individual has been apprehended with explosive devices within the vicinity of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) branch situated in Dadin Kowa town, located in Jos South, Plateau State.
The individual was found in possession of belts containing what appeared to be an Improvised Explosive Device.
According to footage circulating online, the apprehension took place on Monday following the discovery of the potential bomb affixed to the individual’s body.
Sources with knowledge of the situation revealed that the vigilant bank security personnel thwarted the attempted attack upon noticing the suspect. They promptly detained him before he could execute his intentions.
Subsequently, a crowd gathered around the suspect, expressing anger and demanding his immediate execution.
It remains uncertain whether the individual has ties to either the Islamic State of the West African Province or Boko Haram.
He has since been taken into custody for further investigation at the local police station.
Despite numerous attempts by Our Reporters to contact the State Police Spokesman, Alfred Alabo, for comment on the matter, there has been no response to repeated calls placed on Tuesday morning.
