Insecurity In Imo: NGO, Stakeholders, Police Fashion Out Crime Prevention Measures…as Alozie SAN & Monarch laud Imo CP Danjuma

The growing spate of insecurity and Criminality in Imo state coupled with abuse of human rights by security operatives has forced Imo stakeholders and an NGO the RULAAC to organize an interactive forum on how to curb insecurity and crime prevention through Partnership building.

The Owerri summit which took place at Rockview Hotels withnessed the presence of Royal Fathers, Community Leaders, Youth organisations and the Imo State Police Command led by CP Aboki Danjuma as represented by ACP Edwin Nkpa with some management team of the command.

The Executive director of RULAAC Comrade Okechukwu Nwanguma and his team in a welcome address noted that the dialogue will explore measures building Partnership with actors in the security architecture of the nation with stakeholders.

The RULAAC observed that insecurity in it’s multidimensional lines through youthful practices has tended to distroye the South East Economies and therefore called for a synergy between South East governors towards curbing cross boarder crimes.

The collaborative efforts focused on Community Policing and intelligence gathering , fostering youth engagement in constructive activities.

Nze Emmanuel Chibuzor Ibeh Fnim in his submissions called for the setting up of regular town hall meetings to discuss security concerns and proffer solutions.

Amongst other measures in the partnership building includes deployment of advanced surveillance technology.

In his own speech, a legal icon and strong Community leader in the state , Barrister Louis M.Alozie, SAN lauded the Conveners, RULAAC and their partners (AYCRIP) as well as the Police gathering Imo stakeholders to fashion out route to crime free society for peace and tranquility in our dear state.

He advocated for more collaboration with communities and the citizenry. HRM Eze Dr.Good luck Obi, (Dim of Ubulu Ihejiofor) a fellow of Nigerian Institute of Industrial Safety, Nigerian Institute of Management as well as Secretary of Imo Traditional Rulers Police Community Relations, told the crowd that Police is a friend to all including the press .

The Royal Father commended the Imo Police Commissioner CP Aboki Danjuma for massive operational reforms he has brought into the state.

He charged Imo youths to shun acts likely that would lead them into Confrontation with security operatives.

Barrister Eze Eluchie activist and social crusader suggested the scrapping of EfCC and ICPC as they stand as duplication to services of the Nigerian Police .
