Blood bath was averted at Izombe Central School in Oguta Council Area of Imo State on Friday 7th June,2024 during the distribution of palliatives donated by member representing Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives,Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwa as Hon. Commissioner for Niger Delta Affairs,Prince Henry Okafor rescued the President of Imo Council of Town Unions,Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka (Aka Blocker) who was allegedly held captive by Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata (Aka Kill&bury) and his cohorts.
Meanwhile, the Town Unions President-Generals of the 20 autonomous communities in Ohaji/Egbema LGA during an emergency meeting held at Concorde Hotel,Owerri on Tuesday 11th June,2024 called on the Inspector General of Police to quickly dismiss Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata over alleged attempted to murder the leader of Imo State Council of Town Unions President-Generals and PG of Obile Autonomous Community in Ohaji/Egbema,Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka.
They maintained that Kill&bury is not worthy to be a personnel of Nigeria Police Force considering his nefarious activities which include threat to life and intimidation of innocent people.
“Imagine Kill&bury beaten our PGs to stupor. Imagine what he has been doing to the common man on the street. Kill&bury is smearing the image of Nigeria Police Force. We therefore call on IGP to immediately dismiss him.
We are also calling on Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and members of the general public to note that Inspector Chika Okebata should be held liable if anything happens to Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka or any of our PGs.
It is pertinent to note that we are members of the ruling APC in Imo State.
And as well played a crucial role during November 11th,2023 Imo State gubernatorial election that brought back Uzodimma as the Executive Governor of Imo State. We therefore urge Governor Hope Uzodimma as the Chief security officer of Imo State to look into this matter”,the PGs pleaded.
Narrating his ordeal,Hon. Omuruka told journalists that Inspector Chika Okebata popularly called Kill&bury and his men pounced on him in commando style and beat him to coma.
Hear him,”Kill&bury and his men barricaded me and gave me a hot beat of my life. He accused me of writing petition against him stating that I accused him of killing 10 persons whereas I didn’t do so.
Kill&bury had earlier brought one Mr. Ndubuisi Obido to the embattled traditional ruler of Obile Autonomous Community, Abyssinia Ogbuji to make him PG of the Community. He went as far as inaugurating him, but our youths resisted the action. It is unfortunate that Kill&bury and his men attacked me at his Izombe Community where I was officially invited for the distribution of Hon. Eugene Dibiagwa’s palliatives to his constituents”.
“Kill&bury heat me stick on my head where I was operated brain surgery sometime last year. And I have been in the hospital since Friday last week,but only managed to attend this meeting.
He is threatening to kill me by all means.
Kill&bury should be held liable if anything happens to me. I appeal to our amiable Governor,His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to quickly intervene. It was the Imo State Commissioner for Niger Delta Affairs,Hon. Prince Henry Okafor stopped Kill&bury and his men from taking me to unknown destination.
So,I thank him immensely for saving my life. We always see Police as our friends,but the reverse is the case when you mention Kill&bury.
Kill&bury went ahead to accuse me of reporting him to a renown Imo Based Radio Broadcaster,Mr. Chinonso Ubah popularly called Nonsonkwa.
I have confidence that Governor Hope Uzodimma will intervene on this matter “.
Also speaking, the President-Generals of Ohoba Autonomous Community,Ochasi Chukwuemeka, Apostle Moses Ugwu of Obosima and Comrade Akam Kingsley of Ochia Autonomous Community both in Ohaji/Egbema narrated how Kill&bury and his men also attacked them that same day calling on the IGP to dismiss the Police Officer before it is too late.
Confirming the incident,Hon. Henry Okafor narrated how he prevented Kill&bury from whisking away Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka Aka Blocker.
Every attempt made to reach Insp. Chika Okebata as at the time of press proved abortive as his cellphone was switched off.
