..…As officials want Uzodimma to investigate the School Chief Pharmacist.
By Kelechi Ugo.
Pharmacist Ifeanyi Wilson Maduike’s claim of obtaining First School Leaving Certificate, FSLC at 9years old amid Nigeria civil war that crippled economic activities and educational system between 1967 and 1970 has continued to raise dust within the Imo State owned College of Health and Management Sciences,Amaigbo in Nwangele Council Area of the State.
Maduike,a Chief Pharmacist of the Institution had in his appointment file,22nd October,1961 as his date of birth, while he had his appointment letter dated 5th January,2009 as a full-time Pharmacist.
He is expected to retire on 22nd October,2026.
Our correspondent observed that Pharmacist Maduike has two appointment confirmation letters, one was dated 16th November,2011, while another one was dated 27th August,2014.
It was gathered that Maduike had earlier borrowed loan of two hundred thousand naira only(#200,000.00) from the Institution since 2013 and had paid fifty thousand naira only (#50,000.00),owing the School balance of one hundred and fifty thousand naira only (#150,000.00) till date.
Maduike also lectures at Holy Rosary School of Health Technology,Emekeuku and Consultant to Chapel Group Hospital,Amakaohia.
What broke the camel’s back according to a top staff of the Institution who did not want his name on print was that all concocted plans of Maduike to jump the guiding rules of the School of Health and become the Provost proved abortive.
Another top official of the Institution queried how Maduike who sat for O’level Examination two times to enable him pass English Language claimed to had obtained FSLC at the age of nine years even when everybody knows that there was an age bracket through which one can be qualified to be admitted into elementary school then.
He called on the Executive Governor of Imo State,His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to constitute a committee that would commence full investigation of the Chief Pharmacist’s claims. “Maduike only submitted statement of Degree result dated 1991 instead of making his certificate public before now even as he has barely two years to retire. He has been flouting the rules of this institution because he wants to emerge the Provost whereas our present Provost, Pharmacist Ethelbert Okechukwu Obiasogu is performing creditably well. He may be enjoying supports of some top government officials to be injecting trouble into the Institution. Today ,we have E-library, Computer Based Training Centre,75kva sound proof courtesy of Pharm. Obiasogu. Our students were recently mobilized for National Youth Service Corps,NYSC across the country, and we have conducive lecture halls courtesy of Pharm. Obiasogu. Maduike should explain why he has two appointment confirmation letters whereas I am aware that he was duly confirmed in 2014 by the regime of Mrs Ngozi Duru as the Provost. How come did he parade another letter back dated to 2011. Truly,he supposed to be confirmed in 2011 based on the rule of civil service, but he was in loggerhead with the then Provost. All his gimmick is how to become the Provost before his retirement in 2026, but what should be carefully queried about is his date of birth as nobody will claim to had finished primary school at 9yrs amidst the then horrible Nigeria civil war “,our source insisted.
Some students spotted by our correspondent at the School on Wednesday last week said,”we can’t tell you our names because we are afraid of being victimized, but Pharmacist Ifeanyi Wilson Maduike as a lecturer comes to School at least once in two weeks.
When spotted Pharmacist Maduike on Monday in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State,he admitted that he obtained FSLC at the age of 9 years amidst the Nigeria civil war at Umulolo Methodist Central School of the then East Central State of Nigeria, now Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.
Pharmacist Maduike acknowledged the two appointment confirmation letters, but insisted that the School Management should be held liable for that.
He also admitted that he is currently a guest lecturer at Holy Rosary School of Health Technology, Emekeuku and had three years back worked as constant to Chapel Group Hospital, Amakaohia, insisting that some people are envy of his rising profile.
