It will amount to a literary injustice if this piece fails to formostly inform its audience that CSP Oladimeji’s late father, was practically a golden fish in, not just Osun State, but the whole of Yoruba ethnic society. He was the proper definition of a successful gentleman.
There is an Igbo adage: eziokwu anaghi anwu-anwu( truth doesn’t die, it is immutable) Even if one consciously suppresses or hides the truth, later , it must re-emerge until it is recognized. Truths are the facts about reality and as F.C Okafor points out, facts are obstinate things and they refuse to quit or be submerged.
The truth is that, the Nigeria Police highest Authority, the generality of Imo people at home and in diaspora are happy with the Imo State Comissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma for the trust and confidence in CSP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa as a very faithful, transparent and well disciplined commander. It is true that the Force Authority wouldn’t have decorated CSP Ola as the best Crime Burster if he had a questionable record of service with the State Command. It shows that he humbly submits himself to the State CP who has indisputably used his official position as the command helmsman to ensure the much celebrated and well acknowledged peace and security of people living in Imo State. The success stories of CSP Ola as the Commander in Charge of the Anti kidnapping Unit( TIGER BASE), are all credits to CP Danjuma.
On assumption of Office, he mapping out the best professional ideas for peace advocacy in Imo, Conflict management, mediation and resolving the underlying causes of hostility, other nefarious crimes and disputes with the intention to guarantee a peaceful atmosphere in all the 27 local government councils of Imo State.
Acting on the CP’s blueprint cum the support of the Imo State Government, CSP Olademeji demonstrated more willingness and commitment to work on a principle based approach to satisfactorily erradicate all forms of kidnap activities and its related crimes in Imo by personally leading his team of gallant officers to the suspects’ hideouts in Imo. This show of bravery and resilience has in no small measures contributed to the relative peace and socio- economic development in the State as it is on record that before now, Imo was characterized with daily records of kidnapping, ritual killings, violence threats, armed robbery and the unwholesome matters but thank God for CP Danjuma who came and deposited a wealth of diverse experience on how best to restore peace, and ensure the security of lifes and properties in Imo.
According to Hegel, there is at work, in the heart of things, something we may call ” Self Consciousness” it is a property of human thought. Not only do we know ; we know that we know that , the Man CSP Ola is working to the satisfaction of the Police Authority, the Government of Imo State and the generality of Imo people.
Hence, When it was disclosed that the beloved father to the NPF best Crime burster, kicked the bucket, Imo people at home and abroad felt so bad but agreed that they must
prepare very well and visit the home town of CSP Ola in Osun State during the final burial ceremonies of his late father , as a mark of gratitude and love to the State Police Command Authority.
A day to the official date for the ceremony being 5th April, 2025, Imo people gathered in chains with their fleet of sophisticated cars. The journey to Osun State started from Owerri, around 9am on that 4th. Yours sincerely, also joined in the lengthy convoy until 6 pm when we all safely got to Ife Central to witness the one week final burial ceremony of the late 94 year old Aare Musulumi of Modakeke, the biological father to CSP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa.
one thing with the crowd,that came , was the Challenge of getting to Osun very late. Another task was the threat that all the hotels in Osun was already filled up that some visitors and family well wishers across the shores, freely subjected themselves to sleep inside their vehicles. The family may have called the ocassion a burial ceremony, but journalists like myself, called it a historical state carnival as the cultural heritages of Yoruba ethnic society, was well displayed.
Remarkably ,even the doubting Thomas, must agree that within these few days for the ceremony, all the hotels and transport sectorssectors in area, made a lot of money to clear their unpaid taxis and levies to the state Government because the numerical strength of strangers that collapsed into Osun state for the burial, was greater than expected.
Established on Augustine 27 th 1991- Osun state was carved out of the old Oyo State by the Military administration of General Ibrahim Babangida. The State is named after the River Osun, one of the most revered deities in Yoruba mythology. The State is home to several institutions of learning including the renowned Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU) in ille- Ife, which ranks among the top universities in Africa established in 1962. Ille- ife, one of the ancient cities in Osun , is traditionally regarded as the spiritual homeland of the Yoruba people. According to Yoruba myths it is believed that the creation of the world began in ille- ife where the god, Oduduwa descended from heaven to establish the first Yoruba kingdom.
