2026 WAEC, NECO EXAMS:Governors To Engage Man O’ War Over Exam Malpractice , Safety of Schools in South East

Following the wide spread examination malpractice, the terrorism cases, banditry, cultism and other bedeviling anti- social activities in nowadays school environments, Nigerians from the South East Geo- Political zone have requested that the South East Governors May now consider it very imperative to also engage the Man O’ War organization as school invigilators.
This request, from a diaspora group called the South East Emancipation Elites Movement (SEEEM), was communicated to the newsmen through their regional coordinator, Dr. Francis Ikeoha.
According to his release, the issue of indiscipline , threats among teachers, lecturers and students, have created the loopholes for examination malpractice to become a culture in the school system. That those unethical conducts, often facilitated by students and their strange visitors, school authorities and some stakeholders, pose a lot of threat to the economic cum socio- political development of the states. In a similar submission, the exam head of humanities, Daniel Nii Dodoo, had also emphasized, that despite the intensified measures to curb the menace, the problem, has reached alarming levels.
While insisting on the need for the South East Ministries of Education to actively partner with a strong and well disciplined youth development Voluntary Organizations like the Man O’ War , Dr. Ikeoha further recounted some of the vital impacts of Man O’ War to Schools, since it’s extablishmet in 1951, like its historic successes at the University of Ife that necessitated the establishment of similar units at other campuses in Lagos, Ado, Bayero University, University of Ibadan and others.
When Journalists contacted the Man O’ War South East Regional Commander, ANC Dr. Adizua Camelia to ascertain their readiness for this social responsibility obligation, she hinted that part of their approved programs and targets for the 1st quarter of the year include the need to assist in strengthening physical security, improving the Communication and response links with all the schools, the Education Ministries , the Police and other security agencies as to ensure the maintenance of exam policies, laws and order in all the schools . She equally expressed her gratitude to the Man O’ War National Commander, Prince Adedamola Gbenga, the Director General for the Citizenship and Leadership Training Center, Hon. Miss Rinshola Abiola for the sacrifices in ensuring that the officers of the various commands are well equipped with the necessary logistics and orientation that should yield commendable reports.
Basically, Man O’ War, had been part of the schools’ security stakeholders for the safety of students. During the NYSC camp, Man O’ Officers render enormous help, through intelligence and information gathering, physical exercises , grand and assault activities. Man O’ provide Security at events, border posts, government facilities, they guard venues, screen entrants, patrol perimeters and protect officials.
