The family of Michael Oyedokun, the Oyo State teacher reportedly beheaded by kidnappers, has made a passionate appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to personally intervene in the tragic incident by ensuring the recovery of his remains and visiting the grieving family.
Oyedokun, a mathematics teacher at Community High School in Ahoro-Esiele, was among those abducted during the recent attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The incident, which left several teachers and pupils kidnapped, shocked Nigerians after a disturbing video allegedly showing his killing surfaced online.
Speaking amid tears, the late teacher’s widow pleaded with the Federal Government and security agencies not to abandon the family in their moment of pain.
She appealed for the recovery of her husband’s body so he could be given a proper burial and remembered with dignity.
The bereaved family also called on President Tinubu to visit them personally as a sign of compassion and leadership, while urging security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the remaining abducted victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The tragic attack has continued to spark outrage across the country, with many Nigerians demanding stronger action against rising insecurity and repeated attacks on schools and rural communities.
