It was a moment of celebration, reflection, and renewed political commitment as the member representing Ideato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, marked his birthday with constituents, political associates, traditional leaders, youth groups, and supporters at his residence in Akokwa, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State.
The colourful gathering provided more than an opportunity to celebrate another year in the lawmaker’s life. It also served as a platform for him to present an account of his stewardship, appreciate the people for their continued support, and restate his commitment to delivering quality representation to the people of Ideato Federal Constituency.
Speaking before the enthusiastic crowd, Ugochinyere expressed gratitude to his supporters, describing the celebration as one of the happiest moments of his life because it brought him closer to the people he represents.
According to him, the confidence and encouragement he has received from constituents have strengthened his resolve to continue pursuing policies and projects that directly improve the lives of the people.
Reviewing his performance in office, the federal lawmaker highlighted achievements in education, agriculture, and rural infrastructure, which he said have positively impacted communities across the constituency. He noted that several primary and secondary school buildings have been renovated and equipped with furniture to create a more conducive learning environment for pupils and students.
He also pointed to agricultural empowerment initiatives designed to support farmers, create economic opportunities, and improve food production, while rural electrification projects have expanded access to electricity in several communities.
Ugochinyere said he would continue working to attract more developmental projects and programmes that will improve the welfare of the people of Ideato Federal Constituency.
Turning to the political landscape, the lawmaker called on his supporters to remain united, peaceful, and vigilant ahead of future elections. He alleged that he and his supporters had faced intimidation during previous electoral contests but maintained that such experiences would not weaken their determination to pursue their political aspirations through lawful and democratic means.
He also accused political opponents of attempting to frustrate his movement through acts of violence and alleged plans to undermine future elections. He urged eligible voters to remain committed to protecting the integrity of the electoral process by ensuring that every lawful vote counts.
“I will continue to speak boldly in defence of the interests of Ideato people. Our commitment must remain rooted in peace, democracy, and the collective desire to build a better future for our constituency,” he said.
The celebration wrapped up with goodwill messages, cheers, and expressions of confidence in the lawmaker’s leadership. Supporters, party stakeholders, and political associates from across Ideato Federal Constituency and other parts of Imo State commended his performance in office and expressed optimism about his political future, pledging to continue supporting his efforts to deliver more democratic dividends to the people.
