The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has officially adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. The endorsement was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting convened to strengthen party unity and consolidate support ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
The declaration took place in Bende Local Government Area, where party leaders and stakeholders reaffirmed their loyalty to the president and expressed confidence in his leadership. According to party officials, the decision reflects the collective will of APC members in the state who believe Tinubu deserves a second term to continue implementing his administration’s policies and reforms.
Speaking at the gathering, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, emphasized the importance of unity within the party. He urged members to remain committed, avoid internal divisions, and work collaboratively to strengthen the APC’s grassroots presence across Abia. Kalu noted that early preparation, strategic mobilization, and cohesive leadership would be key to delivering victory for the party in 2027.
Party leaders also highlighted the need to expand membership, engage young voters, and intensify community outreach initiatives. They stressed that consolidating support structures at the ward and local government levels would significantly boost the party’s performance in the next general election.
The endorsement by the Abia APC aligns with similar moves by other state chapters across Nigeria, signaling growing momentum within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 presidential race.
