A respected member of Safari Club, Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education Owerri, High Chief Emma Anyanwu (KSM) on Saturday, 13th April, gave out his daughter, Nwakaego Chinaza Anyanwu in marriage to her sweetheart, Mr. Justine Nwachi. The event which started with a high Mass of holy matrimony at the Maria Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri, was followed by a lavish reception at the Forest Event Center, off Port-Harcourt Road, Owerri.
Addressing newsmen, Chief Anyanwu, who holds various chieftaincy tittles of Ikenga I of Aguleri in Anambra State; Ugonwanne I of Ezinihitte Mbaise, and Chinyere Nka I of Okwuato, Aboh Mbaise, Imo State, was overwhelmed with joy as friends, colleagues and associates joined him to celebrate the conjugal bliss of his daughter, Chinaza.
The Patron of Non English Speaking Students of AIFUE and the Director of Digital Versatile Ltd, disclosed that the occasion made a new mark in his family, thus making him a more fulfilled man. According to him, the joy of every father lies in witnessing the marriage of his children, having trained them to maturity. He also used the medium to counsel the newly married to embrace each other in love, care and tolerance for them to succeed in their marriage vocation.
Visibly elated, he enthused: “I am happy to witness this event because no father would like to see his daughters without getting married. So, I am the happiest person today witnessing the marriage of another child of mine. This marriage today makes her the fifth to get married out of my six children. The last one is still studying and hopefully hers would come at the right time.”
Chief Anyanwu, advised them to always hold unto God and to be patient and tolerant of each other for them to have a successful married life. He used the opportunity to pray for God’s blessings, guidance and fruitfulness in their marriage, while expressing gratitude to the participants for making it to the occasion and for their support.
In his words of advice, the chairman of the occasion, Barrister Onyeneke Akachi, charged the couples to make their marriage worthy of emulation by demonstrating in their daily affairs virtues of mutual love, understanding, tolerance and affection for each other. Barrister Akachi, maintained that for a marriage to be interesting, partners involved have to make sacrifices towards promoting peace, love and unity.
Barrister Akachi, who is the Principal Partner of Onyeneke Akachi & Co Chambers situated at 27 Wetheral Road Owerri, while praying and wishing them well, pleaded with the newly wedded to strive towards maintaining the good values of their families and not to disappoint the the confidence reposed on them.
Also speaking, the elder brother of the bride, Engr. Anyanwu Mac Bruno, who was excited over the event, expressed confidence that the bride would showcase their family’s good reputation in her new home. “He added: “Growing up with her was a beautiful experience. She has been a lovely sister and my Personal Assistant who was always there to assist me. I cherish her so much and wish her God’s blessings and peace in her marriage.
The occasion had in attendance personalities from various walks of life within and outside the country who came to rejoice with the families of Nwachi and Anyanwu over the wedding of their children Justin and Chinaza.
