Free our President, Ezeanochie from Police detention,Imo traders beg Gov. Uzodimma.

Traders in Imo State have expressed worries over the continued detention of the President of State Amalgamated Markets and Traders Association, ISAMATA,Hon. Emmanuel Ezeanochie by the State Police Command since Monday last week.

Recall that Ezeanochie was arrested and currently under detention pending when Police will conclude investigation of stewardship as the President of ISAMATA.

Speaking to our correspondent on Tuesday 21st May,2024,a trader who gave his name as Ebere Azuatalam begged the Executive Governor of Imo State,His Excellency,Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to look beyond “hear-say” and direct Nigeria Police Force,Imo State Command to free Hon. Ezeanochie so to enable him re-unite with his family.

Azuatalam who is a trader in Ekeukwu, Owerri begged the Governor to look inward and set up a committee comprising traders and government officials to investigate the President.

Other traders spotted at World bank market were of the opinion that Hon. Ezeanochie did mobilized heavily for Governor’s second term election and deserved no embarrassment hence a civil panel can look into his actions as the ISAMATA boss.

According to them,”Ezeanochie gave a face lift Markets and Traders in Imo State. He however earned the under listed achievements to his credit;

  1. Onboarding and coordination of all markets /Leaderships in Imo State.
  2. Dispute resolutions and settlement of all leadership issue arising from all markets
  3. Provision, Upgrading and improvement of market infrastructure across the State
  4. Drawing the Traders closer to the Government
  5. Maintaining peace and harmony amongst Traders
  6. Recorded increase in commercial activities in Imo State
  7. Restoring the confidence of Traders in Government programs after what they went through in the Past Adminstrations action in destruction of Ekeukwu Market
  8. Help improve Government Revenue from the markets
  9. Improve traders access to better and improved living conditions”
