The students of Anara Community Secondary School in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State has called on leaders at all levels especially the Imo State Government to urgently intervene in the dilapidated school buildings of the college.
Speaking to newsmen at the School Assembly ground, the Senior Prefect of the school, Emmanuel Nwosu who spoke on behalf of the students, appealed to the Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Senator that represents Okigwe zone Senatorial district at the Red chamber of the national Assembly, Senator Patrick Ndubueze, his counterparts in the green chamber of the national Assembly, Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha and the Imo State House of Assembly member that represents Isiala Mbano State Constituency, Hon. Chief Sam Osuji to come to their aid over the despicable condition of the school buildings.
According to him, “Anara Community Secondary school is one of the oldest secondary schools in Okigwe zone that has produced a lot big and respected people in the society, pointing out that the dilapidated school buildings needs urgent government intervention in order give the students a conducive learning environment”.
The Senior Prefect said that the students of the college has been learning in uncomplimentary environment where the roofying of the whole buildings is leaking and the walls decaying day by day, maintaining that his fellow students find it difficult to learn during raining season which is the season we are experiencing now.
He called on all and sundry to come to the aide of the students who are suffering as a result of the bad conditions of the entire buildings of the college.
The number one student of the college said that there is urgent need for the people of the community especially it’s leaders and the entire members of the school old students to come and rescue the situation.
“Mr. Nwosu added that students go through alot during raining season, saying that students do not come to school at all during the raining season and it is actually affecting the progress and development of the students”.
The Senior Prefect urged the Traditional ruler of the Community, HRH Eze Engr Chris Ogemdi Agbugba and the Town Union President by Chief Chidi Obialor to remedy the situation the students found themselves in.
“Worst of it all is that the students no longer go to school during the raining season and this is why all hands must be on desk to rescue the situation “.
He further called on other skateboarders of Anara Ancient kingdom to join hand with the leader of the old students to giving the students a conducive learning environment.
