The youngest aspirant for Ohaji/Egbema LGA Chairmanship Seat in the forthcoming Imo State Council Elections, Hon. Adonis Nick Obinna, has promised to consolidate the existing peace and orderliness in the area.
He said he would stop at nothing to consolidate evenly the good things Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has done in Ohaji/Egbema if he is elected Executive Chairman of the Council as well as makes sure that the residents of the oil rich region continue to live peacefully and cordially.
Adonis made the promise when he had audience with media professionals after successful screening held at APC State Secretariat in Owerri on Tuesday.
The pragmatic politician who is very sociable, articulate and visionary, explained that the peaceful nature of Ohaji/Egbema appetizes other LGAs in the state, even as he posited that the existence of peace and security in the agrarian locality was because the people love themselves, value humanity, as well as being law – abiding, development – driven, kind, resourceful, nice, accommodating and humanely enthusiastic.
“When I become the Executive Chairman of Ohaji/Egbema LGA, I will do what I have to do to consolidate what Governor Hope Uzodimma has done in the area to ensure that the people continue to live in peace, orderly and relaxedly because where there is absolute peace – there is joy, progress and development”, he said.
He reasured to engage the people especially youths in meaningful activities, reunite them to enable them feed properly, as well as sustain peace and good living, saying he knows the terrain in Ohaji/Egbema because he lives in his village, Umuorji, Egbema.
“I am prepared for the task ahead because I have been in politics since 1999. I have passed through the tutulege of political bigwigs from 1999. I know the terrain of Ohaji/Egbema – more over – this is Youth O’clock. I will engage the youth positively to enable them become more productive. I’m close to my people – my people are close to me – I know their needs and I’m fully prepared to handle the situation. I want them to support me fully to enable me emerge”, Adonis maintained.
However, after the screening which he scaled through, Adonis proceeded to Rockview Hotel Owerri where he joined the official inauguration ceremony of Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council and later joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s representatives led by Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria, Senator George Akume, Ogun State Governor and Chairman, Southern Governors Forum, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma and the Traditional Rulers at Government House Banquet Hall, Owerri.
