It is common knowledge that the avowed commitment of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma led 3R Government of Imo State to entrench democratic governance at the grassroots, finds evidence and manifestation in the scheduled Imo State Local Government Elections, set to hold on September 21, 2024.
Good a thing, the electoral umpire; the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) under Chief Charles Ejiogu, has repeatedly assured the Imo people of its preparedness to conduct the LGA elections as scheduled since releasing the election guidelines on June 19. Recently, ISIEC, demonstrating its resolve to go ahead with the date, extended the time for primaries to accomdate parties that are yet to do so.
Meanwhile, Nwangele LGA, likewise other local government areas of the state, is tensed with political activities that are overshadowing other sociocultural events as political gladiators are unrelentingly seeking to sway things in their favour. What is more pressing is the expected conduct of the primaries of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC in the state. In Nwangele LGA, many are seeking the APC Chairmanship ticket, but among them who is the right person to carry the day and transform Nwangele?
Clearly, the answer is readily on the lips of the people of Nwangele that Sir Obinna Francis Nwaihim Chukwunyere (Enyikwonwa) is the aspirant that will address their collective aspiration as a people. It is very evident from the massive support he been receiving that the people are desirous to have him as the elected chairmen of Nwangele come September 21 for him to unleash his administrative prowess for the holistic transformation of our LGA.
Enyikwonwa is a man of the people; a bridge builder and seasoned administrator that Nwangele needs. He is a humble serial entrepreneur that has achieved remarkable and celebrated success in his private life and community development. The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist from the famous University of Frederickton, Canada, embodies uncommon competence that saw him serving on the boards global rated companies like: Jankowitz Market Enterprises Inc, and Witz Cosmetics. This great son of Nwangele should be supported to be our LGA chairman.
A philanthropist with a heart full of the milk of human kindness, Sir Chukwunyere has maintained a visible and impactful home presence, and actively engaged himself in human empowerment and community development in Nwangele LGA through his NGO; Chukwunyere Nwaihim Foundation and his numerous business establishments that have benefitted the Nwangele people.
Apart from his well known good works in Nwangele, it is important to note that Enyikwonwa is contesting the election not for selfish interest that is common among politicians, but because of his burning desire to change the face of Nwangele through his transformative vision. At least, we will not forget how Sir Obinna Francis Chukwunyere singlehandedly sponsored a well celebrated debate for all the government/private secondary schools in Nwangele.
The positive impact of the debate can never be overstressed because a progressive society we all desire required sound educational training for the citizens. This is what a true leader who means well for his people invests in! Enyikwonwa has demonstrated this, with further sponsorship of football tournament for all the communities aimed at identifying and promoting indigenous talents. Similarly, several Nwangele youths have been empowered through Sir Chukwunyere’s agricultural programmes.
According to an Igbo saying: “Madu oga egbu agu ole, kipu akpo ya ogbu agu?” If Enyikwonwa did all this outside government, what will he do in government? What do we say of those who had occupied the chairmanship position in Nwangele without anything to show as their achievements, yet they want to go back? These questions challenge us to think well.
Instructively, Sir Obinna Chukwunyere as a humble and accessible personality is a bridge builder needed to unite different classes of people in Nwangele. As a team player and loyal party man, Enyikwonwa will work harmoniously with the leaders and political players in the LGA. The collaboration will be interesting because Enyikwonwa is committed to run an open door policy, while leveraging indigenous capabilities to develop Nwangele. His developmental initiatives will benefit all Nwangele people.
Under Sir Obinna Francis Chukwunyere as the chairman, Nwangele LGA by the grace of God will experience holistic transformation through youth employment, infrastructural development, portable water supply, power generation, entrepreneurship loans, provision of healthcare and effective educational facilities. Also, sports development, enhanced security as well as environmental transformation will also be prioritized.
Looking objectively at the array of aspirants seeking for the APC chairmanship ticket to contest the Nwangele LGA election, it is very imperative for a lover of justice, unity, peace, progress and development for our beloved LGA to separate the wheat from the chaff. Clearly, Sir Obinna Francis Chukwunyere (Enyikwonwa) stands out! And it is our collective duty beyond sentiments to support the best to emerge for the good of all.
Let’s not forget that the growing enthusiasm for the return of effective local government system, stemmed from the believe that it will bring development and greater political participation to the grassroots. And definitely, this can only be realized in Nwangele LGA with an accountable and progressive leader as the chairman. Enyikwonwa is that progressive leader. He is here with us and for us. Let’s bring him onboard as Nwangele Chairman and celebrate.
