The President General of Agbaghara Town Union (ATU), Chief Ugochukwu Osueke, has expressed joy at the multi-plural achievements recorded in his tenure as the President-General (PG) of Agbaghara town union, ATU.
While fielding questions from journalists recently, he attributed his numerous successes to the grace of God and support of the good people of Agbaghara Nsu, those at home and in diaspora.
The PG who hinted that his tenure as PG may expire in Easter 2025, thanked all those who directly or indirectly helped to place Agbaghara in the enviable position it occupies today among sister communities.
He noted that the level of human capital development, empowerment and infrastructural growth witnessed during his tenure is arguably the highest in the history of Agbaghara town union, a feat, according to him, he achieved through collective responsibility powered by unity and love among the people.
He said, ” I thank God for giving me the enablement and for bringing the right people my way while I work as PG.
” Let me say that this platform may not be enough to x-ray what we have achieved collectively as a people, particularly since I became the PG. Apart from the innovations that we brought to our annual Agbaghara Day celebration, we initiated Agbaghara Youth Education Trust Fund, AYET, which was managed and executed by some of our intellectual best. AYET program alone empowered people in various trade and art virtually from every kindred in Agbaghara, this is huge and unprecedented”.
” Under my watch, God favoured my community with elevation of our sons and daughters in various profession. I witnessed the elavation of a prominent son to the position of a Judge, a Professor, a Leader of Legislative Council among so many other elevations. This can only be God and I give him the glory”, he said.
Chief Ugochukwu further explained that the uniqueness of! this year’s Agbaghara Day celebration is a confirmation of the giant strides and the manifestation of togetherness among the great people of Agbaghara Community. He noted that there will be inauguration of a multi-million naira community sponsored road rehabilitation project, the launching of Aladinma Security Network and reception of one of their sons who was elected to the position of a Council Leader. These, he said, are huge events that require the presence and support of people of goodwill.
Finally, the President-General advised the youths of Agbaghara, Nsu and Imo State in general to eschew all forms of crime and pursue peace with all men.
He observed that no community develops in atmosphere of insecurity and uncertainty, hence the need to collectively ensure and create enabling environment where love and peace reign.
