NCWS Imo State Chapter, condoles with member over fire incident at Ahiazu Mbaise

Members of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), lmo State chapter have paid a condolence visit to the family of their member, Mrs Scholastica Anyanwu over the death of her son, who lost his life during a fire outbreak that gutted the family house at lHITTE- AKPIM OKRIKA NWEKE AHIAZU MBAISE LGA recently.
The NCWS, lmo State chapter, under the charismatic leadership of Lady Stella Ngozi Anyacho, made the visit Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Speaking at the scene of the fire incident, Lady Stella Anyacho soberly disclosed that she and members of her State Executive had embarked on the trip to the area to register the Council’s sadness over the the pathetic incident that caused the family so much pains.

The NCWS number one in lmo State, who described the incident witnessed by the bereaved family as a double tragedy and unfortunate situation for the family, regretted that such unfortunate incident befell their member, even as she prayed God to strengthen the family, especially, the husband and other family members who lost both their full grown son, as well as their belongings during the inferno.

During the visit, the NCWS, lmo chapter President who took her time along with her members on the entourage to tour the scene of the fire outbreak to see the level of destruction done by the inferno, could not hold back her tears, as she walked round the compound, where the incident occurred.

She used the opportunity to present both cash and relief material donated by her members (NCWS), lmo State chapter to the family, to enable them cushion the effects of the ugly incident and assured the victim’s family of the group’s continual support, while pleading with good-spirited individuals in the society to come to the family’s aid.

Earlier, the NCWS, lmo chapter president, had led her team from Owerri, the State capital for a stop over at Ahiazu Mbaise Council headquarters, Afor Oru, where the group met with the Executive Chairman, Chief Larry Chikwe, represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon (Mrs) Maureen Osuagwu, who received the women group and gave the Council’s consent to the trip to Okrika Nweke.

Also, the group visited the Palace of the community’s traditional ruler, HRH Eze Victor Amadi, where they paid the Monarch homage for a royal blessing, before making their way to lhitte-Akpim village, Okrika Nweke community to identity with the group’s bereaved member and family.

Speaking, also, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), NCWS, Imo State chapter, who hails from Umuokrika in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Hon Chief (Mrs) Ego lbeh, who had used her good offices to champion the cause of coming to the aid of the inferno victims by drawing the attention of all chapters of the women group in the State and beyond, thanked NCWS and her President Lady Stella Anyacho for representing NCWS, in lmo State and Ahiazu Mbaise LGA very well.

Chief (Mrs) lbeh observed that the prompt response by the State leadership of NCWS led by Lady Stella Anyacho is a testament to her responsible and responsive leadership laced with respect, regard and concern for both God and her members, praying God to return the Association’s gesture in hundred folds.

In their separate speeches, the Executive Chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Hon Chief Larry Chikwe, represented by his Vice Chairman who doubles as President of NCWS, Ahiazu Mbaise chapter, Hon (Mrs) Maureen Osuagwu, thanked the women group, whom she described as pretty women of NCWS, lmo State, over the bold step they took to identify with their member in this trying period and prayed God to visit them in the times of their needs.She further expressed gladness that women could mobilize themselves within a short time to show support and solidarity to one of them in this trying times and prayed God to bless them all.

In his own, the traditional ruler of Okrika Nweke Autonomous Community, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, HRH EZE SIR VICTOR O AMADI, KSM, JP, (ONUGAOTU 111 OF OKRIKA NWEKE), AHIAZU MBAISE LGA, supported by his Palace Secretary High Chief Patrick Nelson lbeh(Mgborohwumio 1 of Okrika), other members of Eze in Council, expressed happiness over the visit by the women group and patted him on the back for embarking on such a consolatory trip to his community to identify with one of his subjects and their member, especially, in this period of grief.Eze Amadi prayed God to replenish their pockets and reward them with good things.

Responding, the family of the victims of the fire outbreak, Mr Anyanwu, his wife who is the Coordinator of NCWS in the community, Mrs Scholastica Anyanwu and son, thanked the NCWS leadership for the display of her goodwill and prayed God to replenish their purse, as well as provide for them in the times of their needs, while also, praying for journey mercies back to their destination.

Other members of the State Executive of NCWS, lmo chapter in company of the President at the visit include; Hon Gladys Osuji; Hajia Chinedu Nwoha; Lady Theresa Nwuzor; Mrs Martina lgbo; Chief Mrs ljeoma Dimoji and Lady Meg Oparaugo.
