President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday hosted Her Majesty Queen Mary Elizabeth of Denmark at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, in a historic visit aimed at fostering stronger diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Denmark.

Queen Mary Elizabeth, who also holds the noble title of Countess of Monpezat, was warmly received by President Tinubu and Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. The meeting was marked by a display of mutual respect, warm gestures, and cultural diplomacy, as both nations expressed a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, confirmed the visit and highlighted its significance as a symbol of growing international relations between the two countries. He noted that the presence of the Danish monarch in Nigeria underscores Denmark’s interest in strengthening its partnership with Africa’s largest economy.

Official photographs released by the State House depicted a cordial and elegant atmosphere, with the dignitaries exchanging pleasantries and engaging in formal talks. While the specifics of their closed-door discussions were not made public, the meeting is widely regarded as a diplomatic milestone.

The visit of Queen Mary Elizabeth is expected to pave the way for future collaborations in areas such as trade, environmental sustainability, education, renewable energy, and cultural exchange.
