The Secretary to the Ikeduru Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Bright Ahamefule, has commended the Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma, for his commitment to grassroots development through the organization of a three-day workshop for local government officials across the state.
The workshop, which brought together all 27 Local Government Executive Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Councillors, and Secretaries, is aimed at equipping local government leaders with the skills and knowledge required to improve governance, strengthen administrative efficiency, and promote development at the grassroots level.
Speaking during a press briefing, Hon. Ahamefule praised the governor’s foresight, describing the initiative as a timely and strategic move to enhance service delivery across the state. He noted that the program would provide a platform for participants to share ideas, learn modern administrative practices, and develop innovative approaches to solving local challenges.
He expressed optimism that the workshop would greatly empower participants to serve their communities better. According to him, the lessons and insights gained will help in implementing impactful projects, strengthening governance structures, and improving the living standards of residents in their respective localities.
Hon. Ahamefule further reiterated that the workshop reflects Governor Uzodinma’s determination to build a responsive and effective local government system that aligns with the state’s development agenda.
Observers believe the program could set a precedent for continuous training and reorientation of local government officials, ensuring that grassroots governance in Imo State remains people-focused, transparent, and results driven.
