A newly completed five-classroom block has been delivered to Nempi Secondary School in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State. The project was initiated and executed by Hon Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu, the member representing Ohaji, Egbema, Oguta, and Oru West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The project, which commenced on August 4 and was completed on October 3, 2025, took just 60 days to complete. It was supervised and coordinated by Adm Hon Willie T C Okolieogwo, also known as Ome Ka Odi Nma N’Oru.
The facility was constructed to provide a better learning environment for students in the Nempi and Eleh communities and to address the challenge of overcrowded classrooms and dilapidated structures in the school.
The project includes five spacious classrooms designed to support modern teaching and learning. The building features a twin-pillared concrete structure that enhances its strength and durability. Six tiled toilets with water system facilities have been provided for male and female students. A solar-powered borehole system was also installed, using 12 solar panels and a raised tank stand to ensure continuous access to clean water.
In addition, the structure includes a secured storage room for keeping school materials safe. The roof is made with standard 4.5 gauge leaf green roofing sheets, which are in line with public building standards in the state. All ceilings in the classrooms, lobby, and corridors are finished with PVC, and the floors are tiled with ceramic for easy cleaning and maintenance. The building is also fitted with solid iron doors and windows with burglary protection to ensure the safety of school property.
The successful delivery of the project was made possible by the peaceful environment created under the leadership of the Governor of Imo State, Sen Hope Uzodinma, whose administration continues to support infrastructure development across the state.
The youths of Nempi played a key role in providing local support and ensuring the security of the site during the construction period. Their vigilance and cooperation contributed to the timely completion of the project.
Community members, school staff, and students expressed deep appreciation to Hon Eugene Dibiagwu for this contribution to education in the area. They described the project as a lasting legacy that will positively impact the future of the younger generation.
The Nempi community has pledged to take ownership of the facility and maintain it properly. Many residents have also promised to show their support for Hon Dibiagwu when the opportunity arises.
This new classroom block adds to the growing number of constituency projects completed across the federal constituency, reflecting Hon Dibiagwu’s continued effort to improve the quality of life for his constituents through practical and visible development.
