Prominent stakeholders and committed members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State have appealed to Governor Hope Uzodimma to undertake a strategic cabinet reshuffle, particularly among commissioners, as part of efforts to deepen inclusiveness, improve efficiency, and strengthen the goals of his Shared Prosperity administration.
According to party leaders and grassroots mobilizers, the call has become timely as the administration continues to record developmental progress. They believe a reconstitution of the cabinet would inject fresh energy into governance, improve service delivery, and ensure that competent and performance-driven individuals occupy strategic positions.
It was gathered that during the 2025 Christmas season, Governor Uzodimma extended financial support, reportedly running into millions of naira, to members of the State Executive Council.
However, stakeholders argue that governance must go beyond goodwill gestures, noting that some commissioners have fallen short in translating the Governor’s generosity and vision into effective service delivery and visible political engagement.
The APC members are encouraging the Governor to broaden participation by bringing in loyal, hardworking, and capable party members who have remained committed at the grassroots level.
They maintain that introducing fresh hands into the cabinet would improve policy execution, energize governance structures, and better position the administration as Imo State moves closer to the 2027 political season.
According to them, such a move would promote party unity, boost confidence among supporters, and strengthen the principles of fairness, opportunity, and inclusive governance that define the Shared Prosperity agenda.
Many party faithful believe that a cabinet refresh would serve as a practical New Year boost for Imo people as 2026 unfolds.
