The founder/ President of Justpeace foundation, Double Chief Dr. Mrs. Kelechi Peace Aguguo has been honored with the prestigious Ezinne AdaEziama by the St. Mary’s Catholic Diocese of Okigwe, Eziama in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
Speaking during the church service to officially confer the Ezinne AdaEziama title to Double Chief Dr Mrs. Kelechi Peace Aguguo on January 1, 2026, the Rev. Fr. Okechukwu Okoye incharge of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Eziama described the Ezinne as a prestigious title in Igbo Catholic Communities which typically refers ‘Good Mother ‘
Rev. Fr. Okoye posited that this award is usually conferred upon women who have demonstrated exceptional virtue, dedication to the church, outstanding service to the community, and have raised their families in the Christian faith. It is one of the highest honors a woman can receive in the parish.
The Catholic priest added that conferring the Ezinne title upon Dr. Kelechi Aguguo signifies that her excellence is recognized not just in traditional society but profoundly within the spiritual life of the Catholic Church. It is a merging of traditional respect and Christian acknowledgment.
According to him, “The Catholic Bishop of Okigwe Diocese, Dr. Solomon Amatu approved the conferment of Ezinne to Dr. Kelechi Aguguo”.
This Recognition is in order she has distinguished herself as a woman of inestimable values who honors God and have deep respect for humanity.”
“This is celebrating a woman who excels both as a pillar of the Church and a leader in the wider community.
He further added that this honor done to Chief Dr. Kelechi Aguguo serves as an encouragement to others in the church; It sets a powerful example for other women in the parish, showing the values of faith, service, and leadership that are held in high esteem.
Rev. Fr. Okoye used the opportunity to call on women to live an exemplified life of a good Christian worthy of emulations and told those who are yet to receive the Ezinne title to work harder in order to be recognized.
Speaking during the conferment of the Ezinne AdaEziama 1 of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eziama, Nneoma Comfort Anyaka, who’s the leader and the President of Catholic Women Organization in company of Nneoma Helen Onyedeke and Nneoma Juliana Nkwo conferred the prestigious Ezinne AdaEziama to Chief Kelechi Aguguo.
Nneoma Comfort Anyaka added that the Ezinne AdaEziama Title given to Dr. Kelechi Aguguo was approved by the Catholic Bishop of Okigwe Zone, pointing out that the awardee has proven to be a blessing to the church and the larger community of Eziama.
She described the newest Ezinne in town as a woman who has distinguished herself in all areas of human endeavors
Nneoma Anyaka prayed that Chief Dr. Kelechi Aguguo will continue to be a source of inspiration and blessing to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eziama, and Isiala Mbano at large.
Responding, Chief Dr. Mrs. Ezinne AdaEziama commended the women and the entire St. Mary’s Catholic Church Eziama for finding her worthy of recognition.
Dr. Kelechi Aguguo used the opportunity to reassure the Catholic faithfuls that she will not relent rather will double her efforts in helping humanity.
‘I will continue to do my best to touch lives positively, as helping humanity gives me joy and fulfillment’.
