The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially uploaded the results of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council chairmanship elections to its dedicated online platform, the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal. This step reflects the Commission’s continued commitment to promoting transparency, credibility, and public trust in Nigeria’s electoral process.
The IReV portal enables citizens, political stakeholders, observers, and members of the media to access polling unit results shortly after they are uploaded from various locations. By making these results publicly available, INEC aims to improve accountability and reduce disputes surrounding the collation and announcement of election outcomes.
The uploaded results cover the six Area Councils within the FCT: Abaji, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, and Kwali. Interested individuals can visit the official IReV platform, select the relevant election category, and navigate through the FCT section to view detailed results by polling unit.
This development highlights INEC’s efforts to use technology to strengthen electoral integrity and ensure that the democratic process remains open, transparent, and verifiable for all Nigerians.
