Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it launched four ballistic missiles at the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. Iranian state media described the strike as a direct response to recent U.S. and Israeli military actions in the region, asserting that the missiles successfully struck the vessel.
The United States, however, has firmly rejected those claims. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and Pentagon officials stated that the missiles did not hit the carrier and “didn’t even come close.” According to U.S. officials, the USS Abraham Lincoln remains fully operational and continues normal flight operations, with no reported damage or casualties.
There has been no independent confirmation verifying that the aircraft carrier was struck. International reporting indicates that the situation remains contested, with both sides presenting sharply conflicting accounts.
The incident comes amid broader regional escalation, raising concerns about further military confrontation and instability in the Middle East.
