President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the federal government remains committed to defeating terrorism and protecting the country’s unity and sovereignty despite ongoing security challenges in different parts of the nation.
The President said acts of terrorism and violence will not be allowed to threaten Nigeria’s stability. According to him, the government is strengthening security operations and maintaining pressure on criminal groups responsible for attacks and unrest.
Speaking during an interfaith Ramadan iftar gathering at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu said terrorist groups and other violent actors are becoming more desperate because of continued military operations against them. He expressed confidence that the country will overcome these threats.
Tinubu also urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and united, noting that unity among citizens is important in overcoming insecurity. He called on religious leaders, traditional rulers, and community leaders to continue promoting peace, tolerance, and cooperation in their communities.
The President added that security agencies are working continuously to address threats across the country and assured citizens that the government will keep investing in strategies aimed at restoring lasting peace.
Tinubu said Nigeria will not give in to fear or intimidation and will continue working to defeat terrorism while protecting the nation’s territorial integrity for future generations.
