Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, заявил on Friday that the country had dealt its enemies a “dizzying blow,” in remarks that underscore rising tensions in the Middle East. His statement comes against the backdrop of strained relations involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, with rhetoric on all sides growing increasingly confrontational.
The comments coincided with reports of explosions in Tehran, which allegedly occurred on the first day of Nowruz, one of the most important celebrations in the Iranian calendar. While details remain unclear, such incidents—if confirmed—would mark a significant escalation, particularly during a period traditionally associated with national unity and festivity.
At the same time, Israeli officials accused Tehran of involvement in an incident near sensitive religious sites in Jerusalem’s Old City. According to the claims, a blast created a crater just a few hundred metres from some of the world’s most revered landmarks, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Western Wall, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Such an event, if verified, would carry profound religious and geopolitical implications.
