The political atmosphere in Owerri West came alive on Saturday, August 1, 2026, as the PDP Candidate for Owerri West State House of Assembly, Mazi Wisdom Ekewuba (Odenigbo Owerri), officially inaugurated the Ambassadors of the Odenigbo Grassroot Movement, a strategic grassroots structure established to deepen political mobilization and strengthen the party’s reach across every community in Owerri West.
The inauguration attracted prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reaffirming the growing confidence in Odenigbo’s leadership and his vision for effective grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the newly inaugurated ambassadors, the PDP Zonal Chairman, Owerri Zone, Hon. Geoffrey Ihetuge, commended Mazi Wisdom Ekewuba for building a people-driven movement capable of reaching every corner of Owerri West. He urged the ambassadors to remain steadfast, loyal, and committed to the ideals of the movement while working tirelessly to promote the PDP and its candidates.
Also delivering his remarks, the PDP Zonal Youth Leader, Owerri Zone, Hon. Ibeh Chijioke (CJ), encouraged the ambassadors to become active agents of positive change by taking the message of Odenigbo to every ward and community. He emphasized that the strength of every successful political movement lies in the commitment of its grassroots structures.
The PDP Chairman of Owerri West LGA, Hon. Emelonu Onyewuchi (Planner), also charged the ambassadors to justify the confidence reposed in them. He reminded them that they had been entrusted with the responsibility of connecting with the people at the grassroots and ensuring that the message of hope and progress reaches every household.
In his address, Mazi Wisdom Ekewuba (Odenigbo Owerri) expressed appreciation to the party leaders and all those who witnessed the inauguration. He described the ambassadors as the heartbeat of the Odenigbo Grassroot Movement and urged them to go into every ward, village, and polling unit to preach the message of hope, unity, service, and genuine representation.
He encouraged them to remain focused and unwavering despite any challenges, assuring them that the movement is on the path to victory. With confidence and conviction, he declared that the efforts of the ambassadors and the entire movement would not be in vain, affirming that victory will belong to them and that, in the end, it will surely end in praise.
The inauguration of the Odenigbo Grassroot Movement Ambassadors marks another bold step in consolidating grassroots support for Mazi Wisdom Ekewuba’s aspiration, further demonstrating that the journey towards a new and better Owerri West is gaining remarkable momentum with the people firmly at its
centre.
