Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, has officially stepped down as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, marking the end of his tenure as the party holds its state congress today, March 3, 2026.

In his valedictory address, Ebere expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the party at the state level. He described the opportunity to serve as a rare privilege and a moment of honor in his political journey.

“I remain committed to the ideals and vision of our great party,” he stated, affirming his unwavering loyalty to the APC. He further declared his readiness to serve in any capacity the governor or the party may consider appropriate, emphasizing that his dedication to the progress of Imo State and the APC remains steadfast.

Ebere also extended heartfelt gratitude to party faithful across the state for their consistent support, cooperation, and solidarity throughout his tenure. He noted that their unity and commitment played a vital role in strengthening the party’s structure and advancing its political objectives in Imo State.

In addition, he acknowledged the support of the Federal Government and expressed profound thanks to God Almighty for granting him the wisdom, strength, and grace to pilot the affairs of the party during his time in office.

As the APC congress convenes to usher in a new leadership phase in Imo State, Ebere’s exit signals both the close of one chapter and the beginning of another in the party’s evolving political landscape.
