The Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Imo State Council, Comrade Ibe Great Uchenna, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (ICAD).
The induction ceremony, which formed part of the institute’s Quarterly Summit and Induction Programme, was held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Owerri and attracted dignitaries, professionals and other inductees from within and outside Imo State.
ICAD is a reputable professional body committed to providing qualitative leadership and management training for individuals occupying strategic positions in both the public and private sectors, equipping them with modern administrative strategies and practices necessary for growth and efficiency.
The honour added another milestone to Comrade Ibe’s steady pursuit of excellence and professional development aimed at enhancing workplace productivity, leadership efficiency and the advancement of organised labour in the state.
Speaking during the event, the facilitator, Dr. Chika Lawrence Opara, said the summit and induction ceremony were designed to equip members and fellows with the knowledge and skills required to effectively navigate challenges in their respective organisations.
Opara, a Deputy Registrar of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) noted that the inductees are accomplished professionals entrusted with important responsibilities in their various fields, stressing that their induction into different categories of the institute would further empower them to deliver greater value to their organisations.
He charged them to remain committed to productivity, innovation and efficiency in the discharge of their duties.
Delivering a lecture titled, “Developing Organizational Resilience for Managing Uncertain Times,” the guest speaker, Comrade Okey Nworu, emphasized the need for leaders to continually adapt to changing global realities, especially in the face of technological advancement and rising insecurity.
“With the changing world, people in leadership positions should not remain stagnant but must be dynamic and creative in responding effectively to emerging global trends. Developing managerial skills and resilience, as this training provides, is strategic for achieving sustainable progress,” Nworu stated.
Reacting after his induction, Comrade Ibe described the programme as enriching and inspiring, noting that the knowledge gained would positively impact his workplace and leadership engagements.
He appreciated the management of ICAD for considering him worthy of the prestigious fellowship and pledged to uphold the institute’s standards and ideals. “Today marks another milestone in my professional engagement and quest for excellence,” Imo State TUC chairman stated.
He further said: “My induction as a Fellow of this reputable institute is both humbling and a source of pride. Learning is a continuous process, and emerging global trends make exercises like this inevitable for people in leadership positions who desire to make meaningful impact in their environments.”
Other notable inductees included the Chief Medical Director of the Imo State Specialist Hospital, Umuguma, Dr. Chima Oparaji; the Chairman of the Nigerian Optometric Association, Imo State Chapter, Dr. Patrick Iwuchukwu; as well as the Imo State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Uche Chigemezu, among others.
