By Iyke-Jacobs Nwosu.The Association of media Practitioners from the three Local governments of Aboh, Ahiazu and Ezinihitte Mbaise council areas have paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Chief Larry Obinna Chikwe , Executive Chairman of Ahiazu local government.
The Journalists led by Comrade Patrick Mgbaja, National President of Mbaise media Professionals in his address , told the chairman that the group came to Congratulate him on his emergence as elected Executive Chairman of the council and rob mind with him especially on his challenges and how he is mitigating them.
Comrade Mgbaja outlined some expectations of rural dwellers and communities in the present dispensation . He counseled political leaders to entrench legacies through policies and programmes which will be beneficial to citizenry and the nation .
A member of the delegation , who spoke as Board of trustee, Chief Iyke-Jacobs Nwosu , at the Political desk of Eastern Lead Express Newspapers, Owerri urged the Executive chairman of the Ahiazu Mbaise to step up efforts in delivering the dividends of Democracy to Ahiazu Mbaise council areas.
The BOT member of the Media professionals , expressed delights that the council Premises is wearing an improved outlook with serious infrastructural upliftment.
The media professional observed installation of New Solar panels for a steady Power supply in the council Premises while calling for attention in other areas.
Lady Vivian Iwu of Nigerian Statesman Newspapers who also was on the courtesy visit appealed to the Local government Chairman to explore the opportunity of the visit to inform Ahiazu Mbaise Communities and the state some of the works.
Responding , Hon. Chief Larry Chikwe expressed delights that members of Watchdogs of the society are visiting to get first hand information on the goings on in the Council.
The Council boss described himself as being lucky with gratitude to God and the People . He recalled serving as Interim Management Committee Chairman, SA and Sole Administrator ( Solad) and now elected Chairman. This has Challenged me to do my best to protect the Trust reposed in me by Ahiazu Mbaise Communities and Citizens
Amongst some of the achievements of my leadership includes the rehabilitation and tarring of Ihitte- Ubi Road, abandoned over 30 years ago by past govts ,linking Amakohia Ikeduru with Mbaise With the assistance of distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma CON ( Onwa) our governor.
We have also shared improved Agricultural Seedlings to Farmers through our Agricultural Intervention Programmes.
On Security, my administration is already Completing Building an edifice that will act as Head office for the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ) for Ahiazu, Aboh and Ezinihitte Mbaise council areas which is billed for Commissioning next month.
Interestingly my administration has now installed a Close Circuit television ( CCTV) Camera in the office that monitors the strategic Points of the council for enhanced Securities .
On Health sectors, Ahiazu Mbaise has Complied with governor ‘s Health Insurance scheme by making our Health Centers Functional . Every Health Center is equipped with Laboratory test case Services for improved Health Delivery to the People. In addition, Ahiazu Mbaise Constituents were enrolled into the Imo Health Insurance scheme upto 27, 000 People which was the former Benchmark . Today my administration is gearing towards Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma’s directive to shore up the number of Enrolees upto 100,000 so that Imo state will benefit from the Federal government’s Health Insurance scheme
