It is important to let the reading public to know that Onuimo Local Government is divided into four clans that made up of the Local government and a lot of people have form the habit to deceiving the members of the public with their falsehood aimed at achieving or satisfying their inordinate ambitions.
The stakeholders and leaders of Onuimo Local Government led by a highly respected elder statesman, a son of the soil, known and recognized nationwide, Chief John Enyiogasi popularly known as “OK 2000”, and with the help of other notable leaders of thought have taken upon themselves to ensure there is equity, fairness and natural Justice in the sharing of political positions in Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo since it’s creation.
This sharing arrangement has made sure that there’s peaceful atmosphere, co-existence and harmonious relationships among the four clans in Onuimo Local Government namely; Okwe, Umuduru Egbeaguru, Okwelle and Umuna respectively.
The notable sons and daughters of Onuimo Local Government area who called me, condemned in it’s totality the aspirations of Okwe, Umuna and Okwelle clan people who are planing to contest the upcoming chairmanship election in the council.
For easy and better understanding of the whole drama that is playing out in Onuimo Local Government area where equity, fairness and natural justice has been thrown to the dustbin. Okwe clan occupies the position of the House of Assembly through Hon. Chief Uba James Esile, who represents the good people of Onuimo state Constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Dom Uzowuru, the ISIEC Commissioner for Okigwe Zone and Hon. Jude Madu, the ruling APC Party chairman in the Local Government Area.
Secondly, Okwelle clan was given the Commissioner through Hon. Barr. Major Emenike, who is the Imo Commissioner for Environment and the Apex leader of the Local government in the person of Rt. Hon. Maxwell Duru who is a member of Elders Council to the present government.
Thirdly, Umuna clan is holding the position of the current Sole Administrator of the Local Government, Hon. Dr. Emeka Obi, immediate past House of Assembly member and former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem, who is the current Chairman of Imo State House of Assembly Service Commission and his wife, Hon. Chinyere Emeziem, Special Adviser to Gov. Hope Uzodimma on Woman mobilization.
Lastly, UmuduruEgbeauru clan who happens to be among the four clans that made up Local Government area occupies no position at present whereas Okwe, Okwelle and Umuna clan respectively are holding double positions.
It is very important to let the general public to know that no son or daughter of Umuduru Egbeaguru clan is holding any position in this present government of our God given Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma but the people of the clan has not stop supporting the Governor and his government.
It is on record that the people of Umuduru Egbeaguru clan gave the Governor one of the biggest votes during the last year November 11, 2023, Imo State Governorship pool.
When you consider that Okwe has three positions at present, that’s, the Onuimo House of Assembly seat through Hon. Uba James Esile, Commissioner for ISIEC Okigwe Zone through Hon. Dominic Uzowuru and Hon. Jude Madu, who is the LGA Party chairman are all from Okwe, you begin to wonder why do they still want to take or support any other Clan to still take the only available chairmanship position left in the Local Government when Umuduru Egbeaguru Clan with three Wards is left with no position.
And you take a good look at Umuna clan with one Ward, who is presently holding three positions, the Sole administrator of the Local Government and chairman of Imo State House of Assembly Commission, Special Adviser to the Governor on Women mobilization, through Hon. Emeka Obi, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem and Hon. Mrs. Chinyere Emeziem, yet, they are not satisfied. They still want to take another portion when Umuduru Egbeaguru clan is yet to get one. Does it not amount to greed and sheer wickedness?
What has UmuduruEgbeaguru clan done to Okwe, Okwelle and Umuna clan to deserve this inhuman treatment? Is it that Okwe, Okwelle and Umuna thinks Umuduru Egbeaguru clan should leave the local Government area for them alone?
When you consider that Onuimo Local Government area is on a tripodal of four, you will agree with me wholeheartedly that the injustice that is being meted out to Umuduru Egbeaguru clan should henceforth stop.
Will UmuduruEgbeaguru clan remain without any position till 2027 ? Why will Okwe, Okwelle and Umuna clan be this wicked to this extent of wanting to take double portions in the Onuimo political positions?
The position of Onuimo Local Government chairmanship seat should go to Umuduru Egbeaguru clan since all the aforementioned clans in the area are holding one position or the other and some are holding two, three positions.
Is it that Umuduru Egbeaguru clan are outcast in their own father’s land? It’s high time the people of Okwe, Okwelle and Umuna clans respectively take caution and allow Umuduru Egbeaguru clan to ascend the seat of Onuimo Council chairman for equity, fairness and natural justice.
It’s morally and ethically wrong for the aforementioned clans to wanting to take double portion and enjoin them to support Umuduru Egbeaguru clan to produce the next chairman of Onuimo Local Government Area.
Going by the evidences I provided so far, anyone with good conscience will expect that going by equity, fairness and natural Justice, Umuduru Egbeaguru clan should be allow to produce the next chairman of Onuimo Local Government council
