… High Court May upturn ISIEC Election results.

Imo state government may redirect Directors of administration and general services ( DAGS) in the 27 Local Councils in the state to take over the running and governance of Local Councils , if the high Court grants Prayers and moves of High Chief Dr Collins Chigozie Osuagwu over the irregularities that enveloped the September 21st 2024 Local govt elections conducted by Imo state Independent electoral Commission ( ISIEC)
Chief Collins Chigozie Osuagwu who choose going to Imo state High Courts in place of Electoral Tribunal told the high Court that his fundamental human rights as well as that of Imo masses were defiled with the 21st.September 2024 Sham through the non-compliance of electoral Acts and Imo electoral empire’s guidelines .
According to the legal representative of Dr Chief Collins Osuagwu, Barrister Onwukwe I.C while speaking with journalist at the end of Thursday 30th. January 2025 declared that ISIEC who conducted the Imo September 21st 2024 exercise is battling on how to convince Imolites that there was a compliance to their own electoral guidelines as well as the Electoral rules for the election of Local govt Chairmen and Councilors for the 27 LGA in the state when facts and records attests that ISIEC breached their own rules .
Dr Osuagwu ‘s legal teams are seeking High Court declarations that their Clients fundamental human rights were denied of him when ISIEC refused him and others, participation in casting lawful Votes in Choosing who becomes Chairman and Councilors for Isiala -Mbano on the Election date , yet went ahead declared results outside the Voting arena. In his words ” it’s like removing the goal Posts , and running away with the Football , while the Players and Spectators watch.”
The Politician who contested for Chairmanship of his local government under the Platform of African Democratic Congress ( ADC) told Newsmen that he spent the whole day at his Umuebie Ugiri booth with his people waited till evening for ISIEC officials and electoral materials which never appeared . Dr. Osuagwu insists that his appearance in High Court is not to ask for declaration as winner but enforcement of his fundamental human rights in choosing who becomes Executive Chairman of ISIALA-MBANO, therefore asked the high Court to cancel the Charade .
He wondered why he was deceived calling on the High Court to set that ISIEC results aside .
Reporters who were in 30th January 2025 Court session said ISIEC position that the Electoral empire was not yet served with the HOW/1235/ 2024 Case was defused as Barrister Mahakwe stood for ISIEC and the court adjourned to 25th. February 2025 for the next hearing.
Some analysts and political watchers are of the opinion that Chief Dr. Collins Chigozie Osuagwu is on the verge of vitiating the alleged docility of Nigerians who keep quite in the face of oppression and non- justifiable approach to societal ills.
Recall that it’s the high Court that has the right to determine when someone,s fundamental human rights are abridged, removed and abused .
It’s also interesting to note that some Politicians have called for a review of our Electoral Laws with the expiration of the Election Tribunal for Local government elections after 60 days .
