A wave of excitement is sweeping through Ngor-Okpala, Imo State, as Zion City—the headquarters of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach (ZPMO)—intensifies preparations for its much-awaited 100 Days Crusade. The massive gathering, expected to attract thousands of faithful from across Nigeria and beyond, is set to be both a spiritual awakening and a milestone in the ministry’s ongoing transformation of the area.
Led by Evangelist Ebuka Anozie Obi, the ministry has turned what was once a quiet landscape into a hub of physical and spiritual development. Evangelist Obi, known as a dynamic preacher, prophet, author, and gospel musician, has received national praise for driving grassroots revival alongside tangible infrastructure growth.
A recent visit to the site revealed rapid development. Construction of internal roads is progressing steadily, with workers, engineers, and contractors operating heavy-duty machinery across the expansive project grounds. Every section of the site reflects planning, purpose, and high-quality execution, pointing to the ministry’s long-term vision.
In addition to the ongoing infrastructure projects, local economic activity has experienced a sharp uptick. Residents and property owners have reported that land prices in the surrounding communities have surged dramatically—now ranging between ₦10 million and ₦15 million per plot—thanks to the growing influence and presence of the Zion City project.
Security remains a central focus at the site. Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) and the ZPMO internal security team maintain a strong presence, with patrol vans positioned strategically to protect workers and visitors. Their vigilance has been essential, especially in the wake of a recent attack by unidentified individuals who vandalized sections of the perimeter fence and set several GP water tanks on fire.
Community leaders and youth groups have condemned the sabotage. Mr. Papa, a local youth leader and vigilante member from Amala Ikem Autonomous Community, stated that resistance is not unusual in the face of progress. He emphasized that those trying to halt the movement will eventually benefit from its success, highlighting the unifying and transformative effect the project is having on the area.
Observers have also commended the Imo State Government, led by Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, for fostering a supportive environment for major development projects. The administration’s role in enabling faith-based initiatives such as ZPMO has been widely acknowledged, with calls for more stakeholders to invest in the region’s growth.
As the countdown to the 100 Days Crusade continues, all eyes are on Zion City. The event is expected to deliver not only spiritual encounters but also further solidify the ministry’s role as a catalyst for economic and social development in Ngor-Okpala.
