The Nigerian Police Force has recorded a significant success in the fight against kidnapping in Nasarawa State, following the arrest of six suspected kidnappers and the safe rescue of three abducted victims during a well-coordinated security operation.
The operation was carried out by officers of the Nasarawa State Police Command in collaboration with local vigilante groups in communities within the Lafia East Development Area of Lafia Local Government Area. Acting on timely intelligence, security operatives raided identified criminal hideouts in Angara and Fadaman Bauna villages, leading to the swift arrest of the suspects.
The victims, two women and one man, were rescued unharmed and immediately given medical attention. They have since been reunited with their families, bringing relief and renewed hope to the affected communities. Police investigations revealed that the suspects were responsible for a series of recent abductions that had caused fear among residents.
The Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State commended the professionalism and dedication of the officers involved, as well as the support provided by community vigilantes. He reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations aimed at protecting lives and property across the state.
The arrested suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
