Community in high Spirit as Amaraku-Nna election is fixed for Jan. 26, extol Mbamara,Emele.

The people of Umukaram group of Villages under the umbrella of Umukaram Development Union (UDU) in Amaraku-nna Autonomous Community in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State were in high Spirit as the President General election is finally fixed for 26thJanuary, 2026, expressing overwhelming confidence in the leadership and guidance of their traditional ruler, HRM Eze Joseph Chinyereze Mbamara, VI, Ojinnaka, Obi-Aku, Uzi of Amaraku-Nna Autonomous Community.

The Community also applauded the leadership role of the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs High Chief Ruby Emele (Ugochinyere Amaraku-Amaise) for her uprightness, fairness and equity in Community matters across board in the State, including her immediate Community, Amaraku-Nna.

This is contained in a Statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Engr Obi Richard Onyebuchi and Mr Edmund Nwanjoku respectively and made available to Journalists in Owerri, the State Capital, saying that it signified unity, approval, and collective peace of the Community.

According to the Statement, the Community appreciates the Honourable Commissioner for remembering the Community during the Yuletide with edible items, Cash Largesse among others.
High Chief Mrs Emele is a woman guided by strong values—honesty, righteousness, and fairness. A woman whom People trust because her words align with her actions. She understands situations deeply and offers counsel that brings clarity and peace.

It reads in parts, the forthcoming election stems from the decision of the Community on 15th January, 2026 when the entire Community converged at the palace of HRH Eze Joseph Chinyereze Mbamara VI Ojinnaka Obi-Aku Uzi of Amaraku-Nna Autonomous Community including the Town Union, Traditional Council, Women, Youth and other critical stakeholders and unanimously agreed that the tenure of the former Executives had elapsed as new election was scheduled to hold on 2nd of January 2026, but due to some inaquecies the election did not hold as planned.

“We use this opportunity to thank our Monarch and his advisers and his advisers for bringing relative peace to UMUKARAM and AMARAKU-NNA in general”.

The release further added, “Also following the Governor’s directive that all Town Unions whose Presidents General and other offices have reached the end of their tenures to conduct another transparent and credible election in line with their Constitution to replace them.

It also says, “the President General of the Community is rightly from Umukaram group of Villages which is provided in the Community’s Constitution”.
“We the people of Umukaram group of Villages urged our Sister Village Orori to come out en mass on Monday 26th January, 2026 at Central School Amaraku for positive participation in the election.

One of the Town Union Executives who spoke on the Condition of Anonymity because he was not in position to speak said, the entire Community with the President General and other Executives were at the Palace of the Traditional Ruler HRM Eze J C Mbamara when the Town Union election was fixed for 2nd January 2026, but was put off. He affirmed that their tenure had elapsed with the former President General, adding that most of the former Excos would still want to come back Second tenure, expressing readiness to participate in the Monday 26th January election.
This is even as he warned that any person whose interest is to stop the election is an enemy to the entire Community.
