Nnamdi Kanu has officially and permanently cancelled the Monday sit-at-home directive across the South-East. The announcement was made by the spokesperson of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Emma Powerful, who stated that the directive takes effect from Monday, 9 February 2026.

According to him, the order came directly from Mazi Nnamdi Kanu himself and reflects his continued commitment to the safety, education, and economic wellbeing of the people.

He explained that the decision was taken to ensure that children return to school every Monday and that residents are able to go about their lawful businesses without fear, intimidation, or molestation.

With this development, schools, markets, offices, transport services, and other economic activities are expected to operate normally on Mondays throughout the South-East. The move is seen as a major step toward restoring confidence, stability, and normal economic life in the region.

Emma Powerful further warned that any individual or group attempting to enforce or promote sit-at-home actions going forward would be acting against the direct instruction of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and should be ignored by the public.

The decision has been welcomed by many as a positive and unifying step aimed at promoting peace, normalcy, and progress, while protecting the lives and livelihoods of the people.
