Onuimo RHA Ward Executives Inaugurated, Charged to Deliver Tinubu’s Re-election in 2027

The Onuimo Local Government Area chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, RHA, has officially inaugurated its Ward Executive members, with a strong charge to mobilise grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Onuimo Local Government Council Headquarters, was led by the Imo State RHA Coordinator, Rt.Hon.Goodluck Nanah Opiah, alongside the Executive Chairman of Onuimo LGA and Onuimo RHA Coordinator, Dr Emeka Paul Obi.

The event formally ushered in Ward Executive members across the ten INEC wards in Onuimo LGA.

The ceremony attracted several prominent political figures and stakeholders from within and outside the local government area.

Among them were the Senator representing Okigwe Zone, Patrick Ndubueze, the member representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Princess Miriam Onuoha, the member representing Onuimo State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon James Ubah Esile, and the Imo State Commissioner for Environment, Major Emenike, as well as other leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In his address, Dr Emeka Paul Obi expressed satisfaction with the calibre of individuals appointed as Ward Leaders of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

He described the group as a strategic political support platform committed to consolidating the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dr Obi commended President Tinubu for appointing Governor Hope Uzodimma as the National General Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

He expressed confidence in the Governor’s leadership capacity and urged the newly inaugurated Ward Executives to intensify grassroots mobilisation, canvass support across communities, and ensure victory for the APC and its candidates in 2027.

He further encouraged them to remain dedicated, disciplined, and focused on their mandate.

Speaking at the event, Rt Hon Goodluck Nanah Opiah stated that the inauguration was designed to formally integrate the Ward Executives into the broader political structure and strategic framework of the Renewed Hope movement.

He assured them of inclusive leadership and emphasised that the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level and Governor Hope Uzodimma in Imo State are committed to rewarding loyalty and service.

Other dignitaries who spoke in support of President Tinubu’s re election bid included Senator Patrick Ndubueze, Hon Princess Miriam Onuoha, and Hon Chief Ubah James Esile.

A former Director General and National Coordinator of the African Union Development Agency, New Partnership for Africa’s Development, African Peer Review Mechanism, Nigeria, also addressed the gathering, reiterating the need for unity within the party.

A respected community leader, High Chief Okechukwu John Enyiogasi, (OK2000, Opara-Okigwe), was honoured and commended for his contributions to the development of Onuimo LGA.

The presence of the former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Paul Emeziem, former Onuimo LGA Council Chairman, High Chief Dr Charles Ijezie, and the current Secretary to the Local Government, SecLoG, Hon Chief Paul Okonkwo, was equally acknowledged.

The Vice Chairman of Onuimo Local Government Area Council, Chief Kelechi Eugene Ibegbu, expressed his unwavering support for the newly inaugurated members tasked with mobilizing grassroots backing for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

He reaffirmed his commitment to working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the success of the Renewed Hope agenda across Onuimo LGA and beyond.

Traditional rulers from across Onuimo LGA were also in attendance, including HRH Eze Amb C N Eze, Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers in Onuimo, HRH Eze Amb P C Obi, HRH Eze Luke Alanaeme, and HRH Eze Sam Anushionwu, among other custodians of culture.

Meanwhile, a cross section of constituents at the venue displayed placards expressing opposition to a third term bid by Hon Princess Miriam Onuoha in 2027.

The protesters maintained that it is the turn of Onuimo LGA to produce the next member of the House of Representatives for the Okigwe North Federal Constituency.
