Political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections are steadily intensifying in Abia State, as former governor and serving senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, has reaffirmed his political relevance while responding to the growing popularity of the incumbent governor, Alex Otti.
In a firm and emphatic statement, Kalu declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is fully prepared to contest and secure victory in Abia State come 2027.

He further noted that his government implemented significant reductions in university tuition fees, bringing costs down from over ₦200,000 to as low as ₦7,000, a move he said made higher education more accessible to ordinary citizens. These claims, he suggested, should form part of the broader assessment of leadership and development in the state.
