A woman believed to have participated in political mobilization efforts has publicly appealed for help after claiming she was abandoned in Owerri following campaign activities linked to supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a viral statement, the woman alleged that she traveled from Lagos to Owerri to campaign in support of the president and his son, Seyi Tinubu. According to her, she was mobilized alongside others under the “City Boy” movement, with promises of empowerment items such as freezers and generators, as well as financial compensation. However, she claimed that none of these promises were fulfilled.
Expressing frustration and distress, the woman said she has been left stranded without money to return home. She appealed directly to Nigerians for assistance, stating that she urgently needs transport fare to make her way back to Lagos. Her claims have sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing sympathy while others are calling for accountability from those allegedly involved.
The situation has drawn attention to political support groups associated with grassroots mobilization, particularly the “City Boy” network linked to President Tinubu’s political base.
