The political battle over the APC senatorial ticket for Imo North (Okigwe Zone) has taken another decisive turn, with Distinguished Senator Patrick Chiwuba Ndubueze recording another victory over Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.
Following Senator Ndubueze’s victory at the APC primary election in Okigwe Zone, he subsequently emerged victorious before the party’s Election Review Complaints/Petition Committee, where the outcome of the primary was reviewed.
The matter has now progressed to the courts, where Senator Ndubueze has again secured a favourable judicial outcome.
In a recent ruling by an Abuja High Court, the court reaffirmed Senator Patrick Ndubueze as the authentic APC candidate for the Imo North Senatorial District and recognized his eligibility to contest the 2027 general election, subject to the applicable electoral and judicial processes.
The latest development represents another significant chapter in the prolonged political contest between Senators Ndubueze and Araraume over the APC ticket for Imo North.
With the primary election, the party’s internal review process and now the court proceedings having successively gone in his favour, Senator Ndubueze’s position as the APC candidate for the 2027 Imo North Senatorial election has been further strengthened.
The court victory is expected to bring renewed confidence to the Ndubueze camp as preparations intensify toward the 2027 general election.
For Senator Ndubueze and his supporters, the latest judicial pronouncement is being viewed as another confirmation of the mandate secured at the APC primary and a major boost to his campaign to retain the Imo North senatorial seat.
