Meet Ogechi Ezekiel, a recent graduate with first-class honors in Accountancy from Abia State Polytechnic, Aba. She proudly shared her academic achievements on social media just days ago, celebrating her graduation and top-ranking in her class.
Yesterday, as she visited her alma mater to finalize her results for the NYSC program, tragedy struck. Ogechi was involved in a fatal accident, struck by a tricycle (Keke) operator and subsequently hit by a trailer in Aba. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
Ogechi’s untimely passing is a profound loss for her community and beyond. Despite being offered a scholarship by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, her potential was abruptly cut short by this tragic accident.
It’s a stark reminder of the need for enhanced road safety measures to prevent such devastating losses. The nation mourns the loss of one of its brightest talents, leaving us to ponder the fragility of life and the profound impact of accidents on individuals with promising futures.
